Hot Child in the City

We’re getting into summer and man, it is hot! We’re both trying to squirrel away as many vacation days (and dollars) as we can, so we’ve been staying local. There’s been plenty to do here in ATL: art festivals, BBQs and outdoor concerts (all of which make me miss cold adult beverages). Carting around this extra weight in 95 degree weather is a work out! Many have asked if I’m showing now and the answer is most definitely YES (see picture).

Well, we’re over halfway there and it’s time to really start preparing. The room designated as the nursery-to-be has been cleaned out. (Step 1!) I think it’s already a nice shade of green (see picture again), but Travis will have none of that – there will be a fresh coat of paint on the walls for his boy! We’ve started the process of shopping around for furniture and such, but haven’t committed to anything yet. Some of those stores are a bit overwhelming.

Cletus has become very active the last few weeks – I can feel him kicking and moving around. It’s a strange new sensation. And not to be outdone, I will be engaging in my own new sensation – exercise. I start a pregnancy yoga class tomorrow. We’ll probably look like a bunch of zen beached whales. See, I’m already making sacrifices for this kid!

  1. You look ADORABLE! I am glad to see mommy and little man Cletus are doing well. I miss seeing you guys. I am leaving for St. Louis/Chicago in the morning so I want to see plenty more of the cute pictures on here. I will call you soon!

  2. Lookin’ good! Cletus would probably like a nice, manly color for his room. Clear is my favorite, as you know, but he may have other thoughts. You could try various swatches of color and see how many kicks you get from Cletus on each. Or, you could let him paint it himself when he’s old enough to stand up — wouldn’t that be fun????

  3. Thanks for the news. Looking great… What? No picture of the happy Dad….
What did you get him for “Father’s Day”?
    stay well

    Tony

  4. you look so cute!!! I completely agree with you on the heat, it’s so hot out there. We keep coming up with fun Air-Conditioned environments. Let’s set a date soon and you can start going through some boy clothes for my future son-in-law!

  5. I am so so so so happy for you guys! Amanda, you look gorgeous. Travis, that wig does bring back memories 😉 Can’t wait to see you guys!

  6. Awww. Look at that belly. You do seem to be glowing, however, that may be from the heat. You should try playing some music for Cletus and see how many kicks you get then. Just wait for hiccups those were my favorite.

    Love ya!

  7. Hi Travis & Amanda,
Great picture! It’s good that the little guy is getting his own room. Take good care of yourselves and get lots of sleep over the coming months. The arrival of young Horace is going to be a fantastic experience for you.

  8. Amanda, I must say that you are such a beautiful, glowing pregnant woman. It’s good that you’re going to start exercising now, you’ll feel much better after you have the little stinker(not to mention less time to lose baby weight) I made that mistake. Decorating the nursery will be fun, let me know when you have a theme for it. Love all you guys very much.

  9. Hi Guys,
Thanks for the picture; but I want to see the belly under the blouse. If it is big enough, which I’m sure it is my now, you can draw a BIG smilie face on it! You look wonderfully happy and I’m soo very happy for you both. God Bless and keep the pictures coming. HAPPY EXPECTING FATHER’S DAY TO YOU SON !!!

  11. Hi Travis & Amanda,
